“Have you ever felt yourself lost in a place where time was frozen in the past?" The cold morning fog, accompanied by the sounds of pipes, buffalo horns, and cymbals from the bridal procession, created an enchanting atmosphere. It felt as though I had stepped into the pages of an ancient book, lost in a dream. I find myself at the wedding ceremony of the Iu Mien tribe, an ancient ethnic group that fled the war in China and settled atop a mountain in Thailand. This village appears untouched by the passage of time, and their traditional wedding ceremony has remained unchanged for centuries, a rarity in today's world. In the early morning, the bride and her relatives gather to dress for the occasion. Everyone is adorned in tribal attire, and many hands come together to help the bride transform into "The bride of the Iu Mien," a stunning embodiment of their culture. I felt compelled to climb the mountain to capture this moment through my lens. The bride is adorned in a traditional hand-embroidered gown, a masterpiece that takes nearly a year to complete. She wears an oversized hat and a bridal veil adorned with beautiful silver and red tassels. Her body is adorned with heirloom silver jewelry passed down through generations.
