Danielle Giguère is an artist and photographer who grew up in Ontario. She later spent the first fifteen years of her adult life in Montreal and then the Quebec city region. She discovered black and white film photography in 1989, at Dawson College and was really passionate about developing and printing in the darkroom until 1996. Her career as a photographer first started out in the fashion field with agencies and various magazines in Montreal and Japan where she lived for almost two years. In 2009, she fell under the spell of the St-Laurent river and the county of Portneuf where she established her residence and her artist studio there. The rhythm of the tides suits her lifestyle and confirms that she is part of a whole. Since then, she has lived in true symbiosis with the environment and nature on a daily basis. For long hours, she wanders and frames, like a painting, nature and scenes along her route. She is interested in how colors, textures and shapes are transformed along the movement of the sun and the earth and create new events in front of her eyes every day. She has bachelor's and a master's degree from Laval University in visual arts, she practices photography, digital art and other mediums chosen according to the projects. The excellence of her academic career at the School of Visual Arts of Laval University will earn her the prestigious René-Richard excellence scholarship. In addition, she has taught and practiced as a portrait photographer since the late 1980s for which she has won numerous international recognitions. Her work has been presented at exhibitions in Canada, Japan, Poland and France.
