Hide and seek amid autumn colours

As this young female Arctic fox cub spotted me during her foraging on a autumnly coloured mountain slope at the edge of the tundra, she curiously but cautiously crept towards me. After she patterned me, she continued to search eagerly for food in the closer area. This image is part of my latest and still ongoing photo series "Eye to eye with arctic foxes" and is taken amidst the harsh Arctic environment of the beautifully unique Svalbard archipelago. The viewer is to be accompanied eye to eye with the arctic foxes through a year in their habitat. In all pictures of this project the constancy of their curiosity is repeatedly complemented by the changes in their outward appearance as well as in their environment in the rhythm of the seasons.
