I was in Iceland for ten days and nights and until the last night there was never a clear sky. At least not at a time when there were also Northern Lights. I had to spend the last night near the airport because the flight was supposed to leave early in the morning. Unfortunately, there are no more spectacular landscapes in this area that can serve as a foreground for the Northern Lights, but the night was mostly clear, the Northern Lights were spectacular and so I just had to take the chance again.
