The weather was awfully bad. Winds up to 70km/h, rain, waves half the size of the small fisherman boat. Icebergs are becoming rarer in Newfoundland Iceberg Alley (Canada) as they now tend to melt before arriving because of climate change. After two weeks looking for icebergs and seeing only six which were not that interesting, I could not miss this one as it was the last day of my photo trip. Three hours of strongly rocking in a small boat was the price to pay to reach what looked to be a fantastic iceberg. And it truly was fantastic! However, to get good photographs, I needed to use a very fast shutter speed to freeze the movement of the boat, and a small aperture to get good depth of field despite dark skies. I also needed to use my 24-120mm zoom to better frame the iceberg as we were observing it from various distances (and it was impossible to change lens). This unique iceberg had two parts above water and looked as if there were two different icebergs moving together. This series of photographs presents the splitting iceberg, its four faces and the threatening weather.
