I'm currently working on a long-term project, travelling Indonesia and photographing some of their many people and their culture(s). This particular photo was taken in Bali, in a village near Ubud. Ducks play an important role in Bali and are a daily sight when exploring the countrside. Balinese famers use ducks as natural fertilizers and pest control by letting them walk the rice fields. Not only do ducks particapte in Bali's economy, but they also symbolize wisdom and positivity, and are are incorporated in sacred Balinese ceremonies. The Balinese man is wearing traditional, old-fashioned Balinese clothing; white being the color of wisdom and purety.
