Self-defense in Katanga

The training facility of the Katanga Boxing and Taekwon-Do Club serves as a space where those interested can learn self-defense. Women, in particular, are active in the club, aiming to acquire self-defense skills to resist the violence and threats they often face in the slum. Efforts to address the issues of crime and violence in Katanga may require a comprehensive approach that includes improvements in living conditions, increased access to education and economic opportunities, and enhanced law enforcement measures. Community-based initiatives, support from non-governmental organizations, and government intervention can play crucial roles in addressing these challenges and improving the overall well-being of the residents in Katanga Slum.
