The current series of self-portraits visualizes the poem I wrote "to catch a storm", inspired by the storms in Miami during hurricane season. to catch a storm ------------------------------------------------------------------- To be free, I thought I had to catch a storm. To contain it, I fixed a bitten-up black box. I strapped it on my back and went looking for the storm. I searched for days, and I couldn’t find it. So, I stole a cloud and hid it in the box. Its fog was hiding tomorrow’s dawn, and its light was lost underneath a black cloth. The cloud kept banging on the sides of the box, trying to liberate the dawn. All the noise woke up the storm, who told the wind of what I did. I knew the wind would come for me. On the ground, I placed the box, and I got ready to finally fight and surely win. I fought and lost. I lost to realize that to be free, I had to let the wind win.
