The Migrants (Walking Towards the Light)

Walking Towards the Light is a numerical composition made of a melting of different locations including a background coming from a photograph taken on the seashore at low tide of St-Lawrence estuary and the sandy bay at Mont Saint-Michel in Bretagne. Entangled in the obstacles of a dark and arduous life, Marching Towards the Light evoque a procession of humans advancing into the fog towards the light, guided by the strong hope for a better life despite all the difficulties. Five photos merged by digital manipulation create a new metaphorical reality that symbolises the difficult journey of refugees or migrants in search of a brighter life. I intend to express the intimate journey of those anonymous individuals who crosses so many difficulties in a way that the viewer could be involved in this dramatic quest.
