This pic features the wet hair look of a Pale-mandibled Araçari. I truly love the combo of the untypical front hook of the long beak, the strongly colored skin around the eyes and stark colors of the breast feathers. It was pouring cats and dogs on that day in Ecuador’s Cloud Forest. We discovered this Aracari at eye level, preening, and I was lucky to be close enough for this detailed shot.
