Reflection on Growth and Self-Identity In this project, I explore the complex emotions and inner tensions of adolescence through the medium of fine art photography. My work seeks to visualize the fluidity of self-identity during this formative period, when individuals grapple with the reshaping of who they are, caught between the desire for independence and the longing for belonging. Through the symbolic imagery of a red hat thrown into the sky, shimmering soap bubbles, fleeting shadows, and glimpses of the sky through a sheer curtain, I construct a visual language that invites reflection. These elements, simple yet layered with meaning, open a metaphorical space where viewers can engage with the philosophical dimensions of growing up. From the perspective of art criticism, these photographs move beyond surface-level aesthetics to probe the intricate nature of identity and transformation. The work balances intentional symbolism with interpretive openness, allowing each viewer to bring their own experiences and insights to the act of seeing. Ultimately, this series is both a personal and universal exploration of what it means to come of age.
