A series of Parrot tulips in hand blown glass vases. They are inspired by the luminosity and precise compositions of the seventeenth century Dutch still life painters. These photographs share the twinned motifs of the flowers and the coloured glass in order to link them together into a cohesive series. I am drawn to the juxtaposed sculptural and tactile qualities of both elements. All these tulips were grown from bulbs that came from Holland.
