The Romanian Orthodox Church is the second-largest Orthodox church in the world. I photographed this woman in her home while she was reading the Bible. This is not a photo of a religious celebration with dancers, masks, colourful costumes or exotic traditions. This photo shows how religion plays a role in the lives of ordinary people, and how it can be as simple as reading the Bible.
