Venice Equals Canals and Gondolas! This is an early-morning (5:49 a.m.) Blue Hour shoot from a pier along the Grand Canal. From this vantage point, I was able to add three parked gondolas to the image, adding context to the Grand Canal. Wanting an open shutter sufficient to smooth the water and eliminate any passing boats, the shutter was open for 30 seconds, which not only accomplished my objective, but allowed the still-illuminating lights to reflect upon the canal. Post processing in Lightroom, Photoshop, On1, and Luminar.
