The subject of this image is the skunkweed. Whilst the flowers themselves are interesting, I do like the form of the seedheads, so these were my choice to use in this case. The stems were attached to a weight and then the weight with the seedheads attached were placed in a container of water. The water container was inside a lightbox and the camera was mounted on a tripod with a remote attached. I placed a small amount of evaporated milk into a syringe with a very narrow gauge needle on it and then placed the needle just above the seedheads. I gentle pressed the plunger on the syringe, releasing a gentle flow of the evaporated milk. With the camera set to burst mode, I then used the remote to take multiple images as the milk flowed over the seedheads. I wanted to try to give the impression that the seedheads were starting to dissolve and disintegrate.
