Inspired by the Roman goddess Flora, patron of spring and flowers, this series reframes her in a moment of ambiguity—neither in bloom nor decay. Draped in translucent veils, she becomes a symbol of suspended vitality, caught between cycles of renewal and remembrance. The flowers she holds no longer celebrate abundance but resemble offerings, perhaps for a lost season, a lost self. The fine tulle veil softens and distorts her features, echoing the tension between divinity and concealment, femininity and erasure. Rendered in monochrome, Flora’s Mourning reflects on the delicate boundary between myth and mourning, fertility and fragility, visibility and withdrawal.
