„Where the Land Waits“ is a monochrome series built on reduction, interval, and slow disturbance. Working in black and white, the project traces a landscape of paths, trees, water edges, and damaged terrain that at first appears calm and navigable, but gradually becomes more withholding and psychologically charged. The series is less interested in landscape as depiction than in landscape as a condition of expectancy. Monochrome is central to the work. By removing colour, the images are reduced to line, surface, depth, and tonal atmosphere. This allows the project to move away from descriptive naturalism and toward a quieter, more interior register. The visual field becomes one of spacing and compression: light against shadow, path against undergrowth, openness against enclosure. The series draws its force not from spectacle, but from subtle shifts in perception. Its pivotal point is a single square image, „We Are Waiting for You“, placed at the centre of the sequence. This image in tonal inversion interrupts the horizontal rhythm of the surrounding works and functions as a formal and psychological rupture. After it, the landscape can no longer be read innocently. Neutral scenes begin to feel altered; stillness becomes tension; traces of damage and ecological strain acquire greater weight. The work is therefore not only about mood, but also about transformation. Beneath its restrained visual language lie questions of vulnerability, memory, and environmental stress. Dry ground, scarred trees, and overgrown or uncertain pathways suggest a world that is changing, even where change is not yet dramatic. The series proposes that disturbance may first appear not as event, but as tone. „Where the Land Waits“ is conceived as a sequence of invitation, interruption, and afterimage. In monochrome, it becomes a study in how little is needed for a landscape to shift from quiet presence into latent unease.
