In this image, I wanted to explore the tension between presence and disconnection. The subject is close, almost intimate, yet her lowered eyes and still expression create a sense of distance. The white hair, dark background, and structured clothing give the portrait a slightly futuristic quality, but what interests me most is the quiet human feeling beneath the styling. The title White Noise refers to the constant background static we carry with us: thoughts, expectations, technology, pressure, identity, performance. Rather than presenting the subject as purely polished or stylized, I wanted the image to feel like a private pause within that noise. The composition is intentionally tight, with the face filling much of the image while the surrounding darkness creates negative space. The contrast between the pale hair and the deep blue background helps isolate the subject, while the soft shadows keep the portrait grounded and emotional. I was interested in creating an image that felt both controlled and vulnerable. For me, White Noise is about the moment just before we reconnect with the outside world. It is a portrait of stillness, but not emptiness—there is thought, tension, and quiet resistance beneath the surface.
