This is an image of the amazing Tasman River as it heads away from Mt Cook and the Tasman Glacier and into Lake Pukaki. It was taken in the middle of winter, the day after heavy snowfall. The sun was shining, the surrounding mountains were covered in snow but this fabulous braided river remained stunningly aquamarine in colour. Ripples are visible in the water together with amazing detail and colours in the shingle of the river bed.
