I had developed an interest in the Swiss Alpine region - where I grew up - at an early age already. This region is coming under increasing pressure from tourism and climate change. This inspired me to capture these Alpine landscapes and the changes they’re undergoing due to climate change, increasing tourism, and hydropower development through my camera. In the process, I also came across famous travelers and their stories and set out to follow in their footsteps, including Mark Twain, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Arthur Conan Doyle, James Baldwin. This view of the Lauterbrunnen Valley inspired J.R.R. Tolkien to create the "Elven Valley of Rivendell".
