A large part of my practice is the documenting of the work of many fine artists and designed object makers, from painters and print makers, to ceramicists and sculptors. As a long term personal project, I have been taking portraits of artists, usually in their chosen place of work. This portrait is of the Tasmanian artist Gay Hawkes, who has just become and octogenarian, whose work I have documented for several decades. Gay currently has a large retrospective exhibition of her work at The Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery in Hobart, Tasmania.
