Liquid Echoes is a five-part photographic sequence in which water becomes an unstable image-bearing surface. Reflections of clouds, buildings, structural elements and woodland appear within pools and canals, but none remain optically secure. Ripples, floating matter and shifts in light fracture the reflected world and reorganise it into temporary fields of tone, texture and movement. The sequence begins with a cloud formation suspended in dark water, where sky and surface become almost indistinguishable. The following images introduce architecture: façades, columns, railings and wooden platforms are stretched, interrupted or doubled by reflection. A flooded concrete interior extends this exchange between built space and liquid depth. In the final photograph, an upright block occupies the centre of an inverted woodland, creating a fixed vertical form within a restless network of reflected branches. Across the series, water alternately functions as mirror, membrane and active distorter. It receives the visible world but does not reproduce it faithfully. Familiar structures become wavering signs; solid objects appear less stable than their reflections, while sky and trees acquire a material density. The restrained monochrome and muted toning connect natural and constructed environments within a shared visual language. Liquid Echoes considers reflection not as duplication, but as transformation: an image that resembles its source while continually departing from it.
