Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort represents one of golf’s most influential collaborations between landscape architecture and the natural environment. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye with input from Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1969, the course challenged traditional golf design by emphasizing strategy, precision, and visual harmony over brute length. Carved through the maritime forest and coastal landscape of Hilton Head Island, Harbour Town’s narrow corridors, towering pines, native vegetation, and iconic lighthouse backdrop create a setting where every hole feels intentionally composed. This photographic series explores the timeless character of Harbour Town following the extensive restoration and enhancement work led by Davis Love III and Love Golf Design. The renovation carefully preserved Dye’s original strategic vision while improving playability, restoring natural features, enhancing sightlines, and reconnecting the course with the surrounding landscape.
