Trapani, Sicily. The Madonna Addolorata, Our Lady of Sorrows, wrapped in a great black velvet mantle, following the dead Christ and bringing the 24 hour long Procession of the Mysteries to its close. She returns slowly to the church beneath the mournful funeral marches, showered in rose petals from on high through the narrow streets of trapani.
