Almost invisible among the moss, bark and leaf litter, only a single watchful eye reveals one of New Zealand’s most ancient inhabitants. The tuatara is the sole survivor of a reptile lineage stretching back more than 200 million years. Once widespread across the country, it is now largely confined to predator-free islands and protected sanctuaries. Keeper of Time captures an elusive survivor perfectly concealed within the environment it has inhabited for millennia.
