This series is part of a long term personal project of artist portraits. While much of my practice involves documenting the works of many and varied artists, it is the people and places of their creation that interests me. Pete Mattila is a blacksmith, sculptor and knife maker. Tucked away on the waterfront in Hobart Tasmania, his work ranges from delicate Damascus steel knives to imposing brutal steel monolithic sculptures.
