The tradition of hiking in the Dolomite mountains goes back over a century. Setting out early, taking in the beauty of the alpine meadows, it’s an experience with archetypal resonance. This image attempts to evoke how painters from that era captured the reality on canvas. My use of small figures surrounded by the vastness of nature echoes the classic Romantic theme, as does the use of a path as leading line.
