Photographer's Profile

Laimute Kuriene

Netherlands

I am a photographer whose work is shaped by a deep love of travel, nature, and the quiet stories hidden in everyday landscapes. Born in Lithuania and based in The Hague for nearly two decades, I have built a life defined by curiosity, movement, and a constant search for beauty in the world around me.Although photography remains a hobby, I approach it with the dedication of a true craftsperson. I continually refine my skills through workshops and creative collaborations, expanding both my technical knowledge and artistic perspective. My style blends precision with instinct, resulting in images that are thoughtful, atmospheric, and deeply personal. Working with my trusted Nikon cameras, I approach each scene with patience, respect, and a commitment to authenticity.Although photography remains a hobby, my work has reached audiences far beyond my travels. Over the years, I have organized several photography exhibitions and received international recognition. Two private visits to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone inspired my first book, Chernobyl: Three Decades After the Nuclear Disaster (ISBN: 9786094547928), a powerful photographic record of a place suspended in time. My second book, Bring Me Some Dreams (ISBN: 9786094549083), created in collaboration with poet Sunni Lamin Barrow, is a poetic and visual tribute to the Netherlands—a country I now call home.
