A cry in the silence

In Argentine Patagonia, a puma was found dead, tied with wire to a fence, used as a hunting trophy. In South America, amidst the wind and silence, a profound battle continues to rage between humans and wildlife. For years, pumas have been blamed for attacks on livestock and economic losses for farmers, which historically justified hunting them. For me, capturing this image was a deeply sad and regrettable experience; however, it was also filled with hope. Because, just two days after this incident, on April 24, 2025, the province of Santa Cruz (Argentina) made a historic decision: it banned the hunting of pumas and foxes. We humans have the power to transform our environment, for better or for worse. We still inhabit a wonderful world.
